14A Halfway Reflection
1. Some of the behaviors I have developed for this course are taking a few days to read over assignments so I can understand them completely and do them efficiently. This class has been somewhat harder for me because I only need this class for my minor and I haven't really done many things business or entrepreneurship related. I am a science major so taking classes that are out of my usual realm have been difficult but I have developed methods for those others classes to help me work easily. With this class, I also read more about entrepreneurship ventures that I see online or in the media and I think that helps me improve my understanding and requirements for these classes.
2. During this class, I felt like "giving up" especially when I had to do the elevator pitch. I've had to do them before but they were always in class and were usually about a subject I was comfortable with. What helped me pull through this class is knowing that I would have more knowledge about a subject that I had absolutely zero knowledge about and it could possibly help me in the future if I ever decide to become an entrepreneur.
3. Some tips I would offer to another student is to read supplemental items if you don't understand some of the terminology. I would also say to stay on top of all the assignments because they can come pretty fast. Also, don't be afraid to try out new ideas between assignments. It could help with new ideas and creativity.
I agree the assignemts in this class do come fast. I expect to have atleast two maybe three assignments in this class, on top of the weekly cupcake. The elvator pitch was new to me also, as it was for many other students. I like how this class is just about trying and puting in some effort. It makes the harder assignements less stressful.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the elevator pitch also made me question whether or not I would just be willing to take a zero on an assignment as I felt awkward filming the pitch. It's important to always remember the reasons why you signed up for this class! I agree with both you and Tyler; the assignments never stop coming. Your tips would be very helpful for future students.
ReplyDeleteHi Jenna,
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you that this class can be tough and a lot of workload. It must be especially tough for you since you are not a business major and is only doing it for a minor. I also had a tough time trying to do the elevator pitch. I wasn't confident enough to present my business idea and come up with a short presentation that is impactful. Great Post!
