11A Idea Napkin

1) My name is Jenna Allen and I'm a Sophomore at UF. I'm a Biotechnology/Biology major with a minor in innovation. I currently work for the USDA as a laboratory technician. I don't have too much experience with entrepreneurship or business ideas because it is something that hasn't really interested me at times. If I were to create this business, I think it would be beneficial because I do want to pursue a career in the medical field.
2) I am offering customers a chance to try homeopathic medicinal remedies for minor health setbacks. Natural medicinal opportunities have been around for millenniums like essential oils however the food and drug administration has not capitalized on their health benefits due to the cost and quantitative biochemicals.
3) I would be offering this chance for those who would prefer a homeopathic intervention for small heath problems such as headaches, sleep deprivation, or congestion. This would also be useful for those who may have severe reactions to FDA regulated medications. For myself, I have severe insomnia and was taking regulated medications like Trazodone to help me sleep. Due to the side effects, I have permanent muscle spasms and twitches in my jaw at times. This product could help prevent this kind of reaction for many people.
4) I care because of my personal experiences with medicinal side effects. My mom and I both have long lasting side effects from the medications we have taken in the past. Using a more homeopathic treatment for minor problems, such as sleep or digestive issues, could be healthier for the body. People are looking for something that’s safe and effective, which pharmaceuticals have gone away from.
5) I believe using homeopathic medicinal interventions for some health problems could be useful for many people. As a Biotechnology/Biology major, I know how the body works and I know how certain medications can affect the body in crazy ways. I know that with my background, I could help people get the safest and healthiest way to be treated.

I believe these elements fit together. Having a strong science background is helpful to explain to consumers why the product works. There are many essential oils that are antimicrobials, anti-stress, and anti-inflammatory, and special blends that help particularly with sleep or digestive problems. Essential oils can increase brain activity. Increasing theta brain-wave activity is important because it heightens receptiveness. Some oils can trigger neurotransmitters like serotonin. They can also help to relieve an increase is cortisol levels, caused by stress, to reduce cellular aging and significantly improve your overall health. Essential oils can also be used to lessen chronic pain and discomfort.
